CIEC was established;
Mr.Rong Yiren assumed Honorary Chairman of CIEC,
Mr.Bi Jichang and Mr.Jing Shuping was appointed
CIEC Chairman and CIEC President respectively. Mr.Jiang
Zemin(then Vice Minister of State Import and Export
Commission) attended the first board meeting and
offered congratulations, say:"We have found
ourselves short of understanding of the outside
world since the opening-up policy was adopted. It
is imperative, therefore, to set-up a company like
CIEC in carrying out international exchanges. I
believe that CIEC, being the premier nation-wide
consulting firm, will contribute to promoting mutual
understanding between China and the rest of the
world. On behalf of the State Import-Export Commission,
I would like to extend congratulations on the founding
of CIEC and wish it successes in its future operation |

Approved by the Ministry of Justice, CIEC established
the first ever law firm in New China: C&C law
Office, whose business scope covers legal services
for investment and trade, financial and tax advisory,
arbitration and litigation. |

Mr.Jing Shuping was Chairman of CIEC
and Mr.Xu Shiwei President of CIEC; Registration
with the World Bank, ADB, UNDP and UNIDO; New China's
first CPA firm, CITIC CPA Firm, was established
with business ranging from auditing, asset evaluation
to consulting. |

Shuping: Since it was established in 1981, CIEC
has treasured the principle of independence, impartiality
and objectivity, provided services to clients in
an earnest way, won the credibility and praise.
It is hoped that CIEC will build on her achievement,
make further efforts and play a more important role
for the nation's economic construction, and open
