China International Economic Consultants Co.,Ltd. (CIEC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of its parent company-China International Trust and Investment Corporation (CITIC). Initiated by former Vice-President of PRC Mr Rong Yiren, together with Mr Jing Shuping and other entrepreneurs of the referral generation, CIEC was launched in 1981 to become the first ever professional consulting firm since China's opening to the outside world. Ever since her inception, CIEC has been consistently pursuing specialization and internationalization, while maintaining a leading position nationwide in the arena of investment consultancy, management consultancy, business development consultancy, engineering consultancy and construction project supervision.

CIEC employees are acting upon the spirit of "Efficiency, Integrity and Dedication" and the principle of "Independence, Impartiality and Objectivity" and providing practical solutions to clients both from home and abroad, depending on her systematic database, scientific analytical tools, extensive connections and sound government relations. CIEC's clients range from multinational companies to large and medium-sized Chinese enterprises and various levels of government departments with projects covering extensive sectors such as infrastructure, aerospace, electronic machinery, telecommunications, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, light textile, banking and services. The projects have amounted to over 4,300.

CIEC has formed joint ventures with Korn/Ferry International, Jones Lang LaSalle and Regus, and established branches in Shanghai, Ningbo and Hong kong.

At present, CIEC employs more than 300 consultants, 56% of whom having master of higher degrees. Most of them graduated from established schools at home and abroad with a diversity of specialties such as business administration, information technology, economics, and banking. Their advanced education and years of work experience have provided CIEC with two traits: Mastery of advanced analytical methods and knowledge of market specifics, which greatly benefit its clients.

CIEC has been certified as the Grade A engineering consultancy, and has registered with the World Bank, ADB, UNDP and UNIDO. CIEC has gained FIDIC and passed ISO9002.
